Artist statement:
I paint allegorical self-portraits that explore identity, religion, sexuality, and the destigmatisation of the body. My confrontational work often features multiple versions of myself in unsettling, fictitious environments that interweave humour, vulnerability, and defiance. Through metaphorical bodily depictions, I challenge dominant narratives, particularly around Black womanhood and the conflicts embedded in my existence, centering triumph over subordination. Though painting is my main practice, I embrace a multidisciplinary, ever-evolving voice.
